First and foremost, I would like to make it clear that I am not a professional nail artist or a manicurist. I just enjoy decorating my nails to make them look presentable. It also makes me happy! I like to coordinate my nails according to the mood and trends of different seasons. So, here I am sharing with you 3 easy summer manicure designs that anyone can easily recreate!
Neutral nails with a decorative top coat:
This is a very simple nail design. All you need are two nail polishes where one needs to be a block / solid colour and the other nail polish should be a decorative top coat. This is super quick to do, very easy and your nails will end up looking fabulous at the end. One thing you do have to take into consideration is that your first nail colour needs to go well with the decorations in the top coat. I have used a nude colour here as I wanted the decorations in the top coat to stand out. Plus nude makes your nails look elegant!
So, the first thing I did is that I painted my nails with the nude colour. I used "Soul Session" by Rimmel. It is a very nice and muted nail colour.
Then I used a top coat called "Pave the way" by Maybelline Color Show. The top coat has tiny pieces of black and white paper which look like confetti. Your nails will look decorated and stylish. The top coat really stands out due to the nude base colour.
Negative spacing / Graphic nails:
Negative spacing is very much on trend this season. I have seen these being sported by models on many fashion shows. It looks quite sophisticated and edgy at the same time. These designs will definitely make your nails stand out!
You will need just two nail colours, some regular tape and a little bit of patience. I first started by painting my nails with "Chrome Silver" by Models Own and "Loved" by Sarah Lavoine which I received in my June 2015 My Little Box. As you can see below, I painted some of my nails silver and some blue. You don't necessarily have to follow this order.
Then you will need some tape to create patterns. I stuck strips of tape onto my nails. You can experiment with different patterns and don't have to stick to just what I have done here. Let your creativity flow! After that I just painted my nails over those strips of tape with the complementary colours. I then removed the tape when the nail colour was not so dry. Removing the tape afterwards is a very crucial part of getting this nail design right. You have to be careful that the nail colour is not very wet but also not completely dry.
And voila! You have some very edgy and trendy nails! This nail design will take some patience and care but the end result is totally worth it! Remember to use two nail colours that will complement each other when you are creating nail design.
Artistic brushstrokes:
When I saw these nail designs for the first time, I instantly fell in love with it. It is so simple to do yet it looks so artistic and trendy. When I was small, I used to love painting and drawing. Especially painting using oil colours. This nail design brought back those memories and I am so glad that I recreated these on my nails!
Again, for this nail design you will need two nail colours that will complement each other. First of all, paint your nails with the two nail colours, in whichever order you decide. For this nail design I used "Posh" by Revlon and "Chrome Gold" by Models Own.
Then using the complementary colour, here I have used "Chrome Gold", make swift brushstrokes on your nails. Make sure that the brush is not too wet. You will need some product on your brush but not too much. Make horizontal as well as vertical brushstrokes so that some of them crisscross. You will need a light hand when making these brushstrokes. They need to look like those brushstrokes that some artists create on their canvases. However, don't overdo it otherwise it may look messy!
And that is all you have to do to get some really impressive artistic nails with minimum effort! This nail design is totally worth the try!
There you have it! 3 trendy nail designs which need minimum effort but are must tries! I hope this blog post has been useful and interesting for all of you!
Keep smiling and trying out new and creative things!
Ambika.
