Loreal Color Riche Lip Palette - Review

Hello and Namaste to all!

A few months ago, I bought my very first lip palette! Since I first used it, I have been meaning to share my impression of the palette. The palette I bought is by the brand Loreal and is called the Color Riche Palette in the variant Nude. The other variant of the lip palette that was available was in Red however, since I don't wear red on my lips very often, I decided to buy the Nude one.

I don't consider myself to be a packaging fanatic and I am rarely tempted to buy a product just because it looks visually appealing. However, this time, I just fell in love with the way that the packaging looked on display and without thinking twice about what the quality of the product inside could be like, I decided to spend my money on it. I bought the palette from Superdrug and it retailed for £12.99.

I must acknowledge that Loreal have done a fantastic job in designing the packaging of this lip palette. It looks so elegant and luxurious. This is one photogenic lip palette that any Instagram addict would love to share. Inside holds 6 different lip colours and a tiny lip brush which feels quite soft. Loreal have also done a great job by including a decent sized mirror inside. The names of the 6 different lip shades are not revealed which is a real shame. According to the price of the palette, each lip shade would cost approximately £2 each which is why I thought this product was a real steal!

When I first opened the palette to have a look at the colours inside, I was very impressed. There were 6 stunning nude shades that seemed to be of a high quality. Although I knew some of the shades would be too light for me, I felt that majority of the shades would suit me. Alas! I was heavily disappointed by the quality of these lip colours.

Although the colours are beautiful as you can see from the swatches, their actual pigmentation on the lips is very poor. Besides the darkest shade in the palette, none of the other lip colours are visible on my lips. My lips are less than moderately pigmented hence, I was really disappointed by the quality of this product. I would not recommend this product to people who have heavily or even moderately pigmented lips. I wish Loreal could have invested more in the quality of the lip colours than on the packaging of this product.

I hope this review has been helpful and an interesting read for you. As a lesson from this experience, I would like to remind everyone to "never judge a book by its cover".

Stay positive and smiling!

Ambika.
