Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama mascara-review

Hello and Namaste to all!

I would like to start this post by apologising for being absent for a very long period from blogging. However, as the saying goes "better late than never", I am back to blogging! Today I would like to share my impression of the quite recently launched Maybelline mascara. To be honest it can be hard to keep up as Maybelline seems to always be coming up with new mascaras. Today the limelight is on the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara.

I bought this mascara quite a while back hence I have had time to actually use it several times. I bought the mascara for £7.99 from my nearest Superdrug store. The packaging is quite eye catching to be honest. I love the colors used on the packaging. The bottle is shaped quite differently from other Maybelline mascaras that I have come across. The unique shape of the bottle doesn't actually do anything outstanding for the mascara though.

The mascara claims to give boldness, thickness and volume to the lashes. However, the main selling  point of the mascara is that it claims to lift the lashes and give it the "push up" effect. The mascara is supposed to give this effect because of the unique brush which has cup shaped bristles. The formula is also said to help with this effect.

I must say that the brush is actually quite uniquely shaped although, I am not sure if it works for me. I also don't think that the formula of the mascara is ideal for my lashes. I also hate the fact that they haven't launched a waterproof version of the mascara as I have had to deal with mascara transferring and that ain't pretty!

I feel that the bristles are too short for my lashes since I already have quite short and sparse lashes. They don't comb through my lashes very well. I don't think the cup shaped bristles do anything radical for my lashes. I do like the fact that the brush is quite flexible. The mascara does define my lashes and make them bold however, it does so by sticking my individual lashes together to make them visible. This creates the risk of clumping your lashes if you are not careful. The formula is too heavy for my weak lashes. It weighs down my lashes and defeats the purpose of the mascara - to lift my lashes.

On the whole, I do not think that it is a bad mascara at all! It could work for some people but it just didn't for me. Maybelline makes amazing mascaras but this one just didn't cut it hence, I am a little disappointed with it.

I hope you have found this blog post helpful. Let me know if you have tried this mascara and if so how you are finding it!

With lots of good wishes,

Ambika.
